Releasable Zip Ties

Releasable zip ties, also called reusable zip ties, have a release tab on the head. Press it and the tie opens, so you can adjust the bundle and close it again instead of cutting the tie off and fitting a new one. Ours are 7.6mm wide with a 55kg breaking strain.

When reusable ties make sense

• Panel builds and switchboards that are checked and reworked before sign-off.
• Staged installs where you need to get back into a bundle later.
• Events, hire and temporary setups that are packed down and used again.
• At home: garden ties, Christmas lights and anything that gets moved around.

Black or white?

Black releasable zip ties are UV stabilised for outdoor use. White releasable zip ties are UV resistant too, and suit panel and switchboard work where a white finish looks neater.

For a permanent fix, a standard one-way 7.6mm black zip tie is cheaper.

Most sizes come in packs of 100, 500 or 1000: pick the pack size on the product page. On top of that, buy 5 to 9 packets for 10% off each packet, or 10 or more for 20% off each packet. The discount comes off at checkout, and you can mix sizes.

Common questions

How do you release a releasable zip tie?

Press the tab on the head with your thumb or a small screwdriver and pull the strap back out. It can then be closed again.

How many times can they be reused?

Many times, but check the strap and tab for wear before reusing a tie on a load-bearing job.
