Single wall heat shrink tubing insulates and protects wire joins, terminals and repairs. It is polyolefin, sold by the metre and cut to the length you order, in seven sizes from 3mm to 16mm.

Choose a diameter that slides over the widest part of the join, then heat it evenly with a heat gun.

Single wall or dual wall?

Single wall costs less and suits dry, indoor and under-dash work. For joins that will see water, use 3:1 dual wall heat shrink, which seals with an adhesive liner. For crimped joins with the sleeve built in, see heat shrink wire joiners.
