German 304 Stainless Steel Hose Clamps

German pattern hose clamps use a solid 304 stainless steel band with pressed threads and a worm drive screw. Because the band has no slots punched through it, it sits smooth against the hose and clamps evenly all the way round instead of biting into it. They come in packs of 10, and the sizes up to 57mm also come in packs of 30.

Picking the right size

Measure the outside of the hose where the clamp will sit, and choose a clamp whose range puts that size near the middle, not right at either end. That leaves room to tighten without running out of band.

Why German pattern

A standard worm drive clamp has slots punched through the band, and those slot edges can cut into soft silicone, fuel and small-diameter hoses. A German pattern band is solid, so it is the better choice for those jobs.
