Red fully insulated female blades for 3mm wire. They push onto a 6.4mm spade tab with the whole connector covered, so no metal is exposed. Red marks 3mm wire in our colour code, which covers light-duty circuits.
What they fit
Use them on 3mm wire for jobs such as:
- interior and dash lighting
- indicator and tail light wiring
- sensor, radio and switch leads
The 6.4mm tab size is the common spade size on automotive switches, relays, fuse holders and accessories.
How to fit them
- Crimp the 3mm wire into the red barrel.
- Push the blade onto the 6.4mm tab until it clicks home.
- The sleeve covers the tab, which helps where wires are packed close together.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every red 3mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
