Yellow fork terminals for 5mm wire, made to fit an 8mm stud. They slide under a screw or stud without the screw coming all the way out.
What they fit
With an 8mm stud hole, these suit jobs such as:
- battery terminal clamp bolts
- starter solenoid and alternator studs
- M8 earth bolts on the engine or chassis
Yellow 5mm wire covers the heaviest circuits in this range, such as driving light and spotlight feeds and camper, fridge and trailer power runs.
How to fit them
- Crimp the 5mm wire into the yellow barrel.
- Loosen the M8 nut or screw a few turns, slide the fork under it and tighten.
- Where vibration is heavy, use a ring terminal instead.
An M8 nut usually takes a 13mm spanner. Match the hole to the stud: an 8mm hole on a smaller stud leaves the terminal loose under the nut.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every yellow 5mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
Pick this size for an M8 stud. For an M6 stud, use the yellow 6mm.
