12.7mm 3:1 dual wall heat shrink, sold by the metre at $9.00 and cut to the length you order. It shrinks to a third of its size, down to about 4.2mm, and the adhesive inner liner melts to seal the join against water.

Picking the size

Choose a diameter that slides over the widest part of the join. 12.7mm tubing passes over parts up to about 12.7mm across and grips wire down to about 4.2mm once shrunk. Smaller: 9.5mm. Larger: 15mm.

Shrink 12.7mm tubing from the middle out so air is pushed to the ends, and stop once a ring of adhesive shows at each end.
