39mm 3:1 dual wall heat shrink, sold by the metre at $20.00 and cut to the length you order. It shrinks to a third of its size, down to about 13mm, and the adhesive inner liner melts to seal the join against water.

Picking the size

Choose a diameter that slides over the widest part of the join. 39mm tubing passes over parts up to about 39mm across and grips wire down to about 13mm once shrunk. Smaller: 30mm. Larger: 50mm.

A 39mm sleeve takes longer to recover: keep the heat gun moving all the way round the tube so one side does not overheat before the other shrinks.
