Blue ring terminals for 4mm wire, made to fit an 8mm bolt. They go right around a bolt or stud, so the connection cannot slip off even if the nut loosens.
What they fit
With an 8mm bolt hole, these suit jobs such as:
- battery terminal clamp bolts
- starter solenoid and alternator studs
- M8 earth bolts on the engine or chassis
Blue 4mm wire covers medium-duty circuits, such as horns and cooling fans and fuel pump and relay wiring.
How to fit them
- Crimp the 4mm wire into the blue barrel.
- Take the M8 nut off, slide the ring over the bolt and refit the M8 nut.
- Tighten firmly; the ring sits flat under the M8 nut.
An M8 nut usually takes a 13mm spanner. Match the hole to the bolt: an 8mm hole on a smaller bolt leaves the terminal loose under the nut.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every blue 4mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
Pick this size for an M8 bolt. For an M6 bolt, use the blue 6mm.
