Red ring terminals for 3mm wire, made to fit a 4mm bolt. They go right around a bolt or stud, so the connection cannot slip off even if the nut loosens.
What they fit
With a 4mm bolt hole, these suit jobs such as:
- switch panel and terminal block screws
- small accessory and gauge terminals

Red 3mm wire covers light-duty circuits, such as interior and dash lighting and indicator and tail light wiring.
How to fit them
- Crimp the 3mm wire into the red barrel.
- Take the M4 nut off, slide the ring over the bolt and refit the M4 nut.
- Tighten firmly; the ring sits flat under the M4 nut.
An M4 nut usually takes a 7mm spanner. Match the hole to the bolt: a 4mm hole on a smaller bolt leaves the terminal loose under the nut.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every red 3mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
Pick this size for an M4 bolt. For an M6 bolt, step up to the red 6mm.
