3.2mm 3:1 dual wall heat shrink, sold by the metre at $3.00 and cut to the length you order. It shrinks to a third of its size, down to about 1.1mm, and the adhesive inner liner melts to seal the join against water.

What 3.2mm suits

Picking the size

Choose a diameter that slides over the widest part of the join. 3.2mm tubing passes over parts up to about 3.2mm across and grips wire down to about 1.1mm once shrunk. Smaller: 2.4mm. Larger: 4.8mm.

At 3.2mm, a small heat gun nozzle or reflector keeps the heat on the tube and off nearby insulation. For dry joins that need no seal, single wall heat shrink costs less.
