Red wire joiners for 3mm wire. They join two wires end to end inside one insulated barrel. Red marks 3mm wire in our colour code, which covers light-duty circuits.
What they fit
Use them on 3mm wire for jobs such as:
- interior and dash lighting
- indicator and tail light wiring
- sensor, radio and switch leads
How to fit them
- Strip both wire ends.
- Push one wire into each end of the joiner and crimp both sides.
- Tug each wire to check the crimp holds.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every red 3mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
