Yellow piggy back blade terminals for 5mm wire. They push onto a 6.4mm tab and give you a second tab on top, so two wires share one connection. Yellow marks 5mm wire in our colour code, which covers the heaviest circuits in this range.
What they fit
Use them on 5mm wire for jobs such as:
- driving light and spotlight feeds
- camper, fridge and trailer power runs
- earth straps and heavier accessory leads
The 6.4mm tab size is the common spade size on automotive switches, relays, fuse holders and accessories.
How to fit them
- Crimp the new wire into the yellow barrel.
- Pull the existing female blade off the tab, push the piggy back on, then refit the original blade to its tab.
- Both circuits now run from one 6.4mm tab.
Use a ratchet crimping tool: it will not release until the crimp is complete, so every yellow 5mm join gets the same pressure. Where the join will see water, seal it with dual wall heat shrink.
